I'm Alison, a passionate education professional with an Associate's degree in Psychology and eight years of experience in tutoring. I hold certifications in behavior and learning support, and am specialized in School Readiness Tutoring, Elementary School Tutoring, Special Education Tutoring, and the Montessori method. My work mirrors my profound understanding of how children learn and assimilate information. I focus on empowering students to construct, improve, and implement lifelong skills beyond the basic homework help. My specialty is in customizing my teaching style to match the learning style of each child, particularly those with ADHD, autism, or unique learning patterns. I aim to create an uplifting, structured, and stimulating environment that aids my students in enhancing their reading comprehension, decoding skills, focus, and academic self-assurance. I have previously supported over 100 elementary students, primarily those in the second and third grades. My sessions are designed to be engaging, organized, and supportive, with the ultimate goal of making learning a meaningful journey of discovery, and fostering a sense of independence in the learner. Proficient in the subjects of Math and English, I am seeking a role as a private tutor or early childhood educator. I prefer working from your home, or online, and I can flexibly accommodate tutoring sessions after academic learning and evenings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as well as at any time on Saturday. I firmly believe that every child possesses the potential to learn and excel, given the right tools, patience, and understanding. I am not only dedicated to academic progress but also strive to instill a sense of capability, confidence, and pride in all my students.
